About the Presenters
Lisa TurnerLisa Turner is an English teacher at Central York High School in York, PA, as well as an instructor for Wilson College through Eduspire.
Lisa's other teaching opportunities, have lead her to design and instruct professional development courses Wilson College through Eduspire. A co-designed course, “Technology Infused Classroom,” as well as an online Build Your Own Course, “Social Networking in the Classroom,” allow her to assist teachers as they seek to make technology a daily part of their students’ learning. From 2012 - 2016, Lisa was also an associate faculty for Ashford University teaching online courses in technology integration and "best practices" in their Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology and Master of Arts in Education programs. Lisa is passionate about the integration of technology in the classroom and its motivational and transformative capabilities in teaching and learning. With six years of experience in integrating technology into students' learning on a daily basis, Lisa has observed first hand how students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and literacy skills improve when technology is used on a regular basis to support learning. Lisa's educational background includes a BA in Secondary English Education from York College of Pennsylvania, a M.Ed. in Teaching and Curriculum from Penn State University, as well as an Ed.D. in Education Technology Management from Northcentral University. |
Carol RothAfter 17 years of teaching Earth and Space Science Carol Roth became the Technology Integrator at the secondary level in Central York School District. While teaching, Carol was part of the Classrooms for the Future (CFF) program and became a Keystone Technology Integrator. Now, as a technology integrator, it is her responsibility to offer professional development sessions, meet with teachers for planning purposes, assist in the classroom with students, and work with district and building administrators to assist with steering the district in the future of educational technology.
In addition to her full time job at Central York, she also teaches graduate courses on technology integration for Eduspire through Brandman University as well as education courses at York College of PA. Further, Carol and husband have 3 children (scattered in York, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia) and a greyhound. They enjoy an active life in the outdoors and look forward to traveling whenever possible (a Norwegian cruise through the fjords is next on the big trip list). Carol's post-secondary educational background started at Millersville University with a bachelor's degree in education (Earth & Space Science). She later earned a master's degree in education (21st Century Teaching and Learning) at Wilke's University. Most recently, Carol finished an administrative and supervisory certification through Johns Hopkins University in conjunction with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), concluding with a presentation at the ISTE conference in San Diego.
